Scope

Modern Machine Shop is the leading publication and media brand in North America devoted to CNC machining. To report on the ways CNC machining technology is advancing and succeeding, our staff writers travel the world exploring the ways job shops, contract shops and captive operations use machining equipment, processes and strategies to become more effective and efficient. MMS combines unprecedented editorial access to manufacturing facilities with decades of experience to provide long-form content that is both insightful and impactful. Our horizontal media brand covers a wide range of machining processes (including composites machining, die/mold machining and more) in the automotive, aerospace and medical industries, as well as a variety of others. We cover everything from industry news and advances in product design (including machine tools, cutting tools, workholding equipment, control systems and manufacturing software) to in-depth application stories centered around machining technology users. Noteworthy is our coverage of significant technology trends in automation (cobots), the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)/data-driven manufacturing, additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial settings. Our website and social media channels are updated daily with new content related to this broad mission. Join the conversation about this journal
