Scope

Chinese Journal of Reproduction and Contraception, directed by China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by Chinese Medical Association, Shanghai Institute of Planned Parenthood Research and Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, is officially published in 2017, monthly. It is a peer reviewed medical journal for doctors, medical researchers, and health workers in the field of reproduction and contraception. The impact factor of the journal is 1.242 in 2016. Chinese Journal of Reproduction and Contraception is formerly known as Reproduction and Contraception, an academic periodical founded in 1980 and released at home and abroad after the approval of the State Council. Controlled by the State Family Planning Commission and held by Shanghai Institute of Planned Parenthood Research, it focuses on reproductive biology and reproductive medicine. From a 64-page quarterly of B5 format at the very beginning of starting publication, it has developed into a 88-page monthly of A4 format now. In 2016, Reproduction and Contraception was defined as a core journal of gynecology and obstetrics in A Guide to the Core Chinese Periodical and HowNet, etc.. Since January 1 of 2017, Reproduction and Contraception has been officially renamed as the Chinese Journal of Reproduction and Contraception. The journal mainly covers research findings involved in basic and clinical research of reproductive medicine, including research trends and progresses at home and abroad, new techniques and methods, and opinions on the different academic point. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
