Scope

U.Porto Journal of Engineering (ISSN 2183-6493), a publication of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in several areas of engineering. The subject areas covered by the journal include all areas related to engineering such as chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering and materials engineering. The journal publishes both research and review articles in those areas. UPjeng is managed to be issued twice in every volume in the first quarter (April) and in the last quarter of the year (November), considering publication of special issues related to engineering conferences selected papers. All papers are double blinded peer-reviewed by at least two referees, to guarantee the quality of its content, structure and language. Plagiarism screening will be conducted by the Editorial Board using Turnitin. To help support the maintenance of the Journal and its sustainability, 'Article Processing Charges' (APC) are requested to authors. APCs include peer-reviewing, editing, publishing, maintaining and archiving (more information at Open Access Policy). The Journal allows immediate access to the full text versions of the published articles. The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
