Scope

Welcome to the 2015 Digital Production Symposium, held on August 8, 2015 in Los Angeles. As in previous years, our submissions continue to reflect the diverse set of technical challenges faced in the creation of modern computer graphics for film production. The presenters and our program committee represent large and small studios, live action VFX and feature animation, and hail from many countries around the world. We are pleased to have Luca Fascione, rendering research supervisor at Weta Digital, as our keynote speaker. DigiPro's content is similar to technical papers and talks from SIGGRAPH, but differs in some important ways: Rather than being focused solely on "research," DigiPro also seeks to present papers on systems and pipelines, standard practice that has not been documented, best practices, and even out-of-the-box musing on the nature of our work. We are pleased that this wide spectrum of topics and types of presentation is reflected in this year's program, and hope that in addition to purely academic interest, our content will inspire you to embrace, implement, and extend what you see presented.
