Scope

Advancing the Science of Drug Discovery: SLAS Discovery reports how scientists develop and utilize novel technologies and/or approaches to provide and characterize chemical and biological tools to understand and treat human disease. SLAS Discovery is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific reports that enable and improve target validation, evaluate current drug discovery technologies, provide novel research tools, and incorporate research approaches that enhance depth of knowledge and drug discovery success. SLAS Discovery emphasizes scientific and technical advances in target identification/validation (including chemical probes, RNA silencing, gene editing technologies); biomarker discovery; assay development; virtual, medium- or high-throughput screening (biochemical and biological, biophysical, phenotypic, toxicological, ADME); lead generation/optimization; chemical biology; and informatics (data analysis, image analysis, statistics, bio- and chemo-informatics). Review articles on target biology, new paradigms in drug discovery and advances in drug discovery technologies. SLAS Discovery is of particular interest to those involved in analytical chemistry, applied microbiology, automation, biochemistry, bioengineering, biomedical optics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, cell biology, DNA science and technology, genetics, information technology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, natural products chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacology, spectroscopy, and toxicology. SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.

Cites per Doc

Evolution of the number of total citation per document and external citation per document (i.e. journal self-citations removed) received by a journal's published documents during the three previous years. External citations are calculated by subtracting the number of self-citations from the total number of citations received by the journal’s documents.

Estimated financial value

It represents the potential financial worth of a journal. It is obtained by multiplying the journal's Estimated APC by the total number of citable documents published over the past five years. This value reflects the hypothetical revenue a journal could generate based on its estimated publication costs and scholarly output.
