Scope

European Clinical Respiratory Journal (ECRJ) is a peer-reviewed international open access journal that publishes studies within the area of respiratory diseases. ECRJ focuses on the immunology and pathophysiology of the respiratory system, providing an understanding of disease mechanisms and how the body combats these diseases. Respiratory disease is a public health problem with several hundreds of millions currently suffering from chronic respiratory diseases, creating a large burden on both society and on the healthcare system. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), respiratory disease, including lower respiratory infections, COPD and lung cancers, accounts for 7 million deaths annually worldwide. The journal publishes under two sections, the scientific section that focuses on clinical aspects and scientific data of respiratory disease, and the educational section that focuses on papers that aim to translate the scientific data into relevant clinical recommendations.
