Scope

ACII 2015 is a milestone. It is 20 years since a technical report from MIT brought the term “Affective Computing” into use. It is 10 years since the first ACII, held in Beijing. It is also the first time that ACII has been run under the auspices of the Association for the Advancement of Affective Computing, the successor to the old Humaine Association. Fittingly, ACII returns to China this year. The program shows how strikingly the subject has progressed. It covers subjects that emerged early on, including affect and psychophysiology, affect in speech, machine learning, and Human—Machine Interaction. Other topics became central as the field developed: multimodal perception, affect induction for database construction, and affect in computer gaming. Beyond those are topics that are emerging onto the scene, reflecting more nuanced conceptions of emotion: dynamic signals of affect, emotion and cognition, skilled affective communication, affect and health, and laughter. Each of those headings corresponds to a session in the conference, making it a truly rich experience. Join the conversation about this journal
SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
