Scope The Netherlands have been playing an important role in archaeology of Egypt/Egyptology, archaeology of Northwest Europe and vertebrate palaeontology. Various Dutch scientists are known worldwide, for instance Adriaan de Buck, the Egyptologist who compiled the famous and authoritative scientific publications of the Coffin Texts or Paul Sondaar, who did his pioneering work on prehistoric island fauna. An important Dutch project is the Annual Egyptological Bibliography (AEB), which recently has moved to Oxford.
