Scope

Vulnerable Children and Youth Studies is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal focused on research, policy and care for vulnerable children and young people. Vulnerable Children and Youth Studies addresses vulnerability in childhood from scholarly and experiential perspectives with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of children. The journal provides a much-needed interdisciplinary focus on vulnerable children and youth at risk, specifically in relation to health and welfare issues, and aims to be widely consulted for cutting-edge research and effective policy and intervention. The journal addresses a variety of issues, including the psychological, sociological, health, gender, culture, economic and educational aspects of children and adolescents in developed and developing countries. Topics covered include: -Mental health- Illness (including HIV/AIDS)- Disability- Abuse and neglect- Institutionalization, poverty and exploitation- War, famine, violence and disaster- Orphanhood Join the conversation about this journal

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
