Scope

Southeast European and Black Sea Studies (SEEBSS) is a multi-disciplinary journal publishing cross-country comparative analyses and new research on individual countries within the Southeast European and Black Sea regions. The journal also invites submissions with innovative new research establishing analytical connections and comparisons between the two regions. In addition, we welcome articles focusing on Russia and its relations with its neighbours, on Turkey and its policy towards individual countries and entire regions, as well as papers investigating the wider political and security implications of major crises occurring in - or emanating from - Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region. The principal disciplines covered by the journal are political science and international relations, political economy, political anthropology and late modern and contemporary history. The journal is committed to publishing research that breaks away from traditional ethnocentric approaches and develops a deeper and more fruitful understanding of the area, providing a forum for both academic and original policy-oriented articles.
