Scope The International Journal of Mental Health & Addiction offers a forum for up-to-date information and developments in mental health and addiction-related research, policy, phenomenology, literature, and treatment. Through publishing high-quality peer-reviewed articles, it is our aim to seek and lead an international debate on mental health and addiction-related issues, and to help make sense of how mental health and addiction affect individuals and societies. Our Journal covers areas in psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, public health, history, law, literature, and other fields pertaining to mental health and addiction. The Journal publishes feature articles, review articles, clinical notes, research notes, first person accounts, letters to the editor, commentaries, conference reports, book reviews and abstracts in all of these areas. We publish 4 times a year.

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
