Scope

The scope of this Transactions covers the requirements, planning, analysis, reliability, operation, and economics of electric generating, transmission, and distribution systems for general industrial, commercial, public, and domestic consumption. The main focus of the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems is the power system from a systems viewpoint instead of components of the system. It has five (5) key areas within its scope with several subdivisions within each area. These areas are: (1) Power Engineering Education, (2) Power System Analysis, Computing, and Economics, (3) Power System Dynamic Performance, (4) Power System Operations, and (5) Power System Planning and Implementation. The purviews of these areas are broad and do not need frequent updates. However, if a new technology evolves in the industry and it needs specific focus, the purview of the corresponding area is updated to include the technology and the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems identifies it as a new subdivision. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
