Scope The purpose of Clinical Nurse Specialist:™ The Journal for Advanced Nursing Practice is to publish scholarly works by clinical nurse specialists and other advanced practice nurses whose manuscripts advance the practice of nursing. Objectives of the journal are: 1. To disseminate knowledge about clinical nurse specialist practice; 2. To communicate the outcomes of clinical nurse specialist practice on patients, families, groups and communities; the nursing profession; and health care systems, organizations, and networks; 3. To foster discussion of issues and trends that impact clinical nurse specialist practice; and, 4. To promote dialogue between clinical nurse specialists and other advanced practice nurses.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
