Scope The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Criminology is one of the world's longest-running criminology journals, having been established in Melbourne in 1968. It is a leading international peer-reviewed journal for criminological research and is the principal journal of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology Inc. The journal is dedicated to advancing research and debate on a range of criminological problems and embraces diverse methodological approaches, being home to a wide range of criminological and interdisciplinary work in the field of crime and criminal justice. It is committed to advancing theoretical, empirical and policy debate in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal.
