Scope Genetics in Medicine is the official journal of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. The mission of the journal shall be to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and practice of medical genetics and genomics through publications in clinical and laboratory genetics and genomics, including ethical, legal, and social issues as well as public health. As genetics and genomics continue to increase in importance and relevance in medical practice, the journal will be an accessible and authoritative resource for the dissemination of medical genetic knowledge to all medical providers through appropriate reviews, discussions, commentaries, recommendations, standards, and guidelines. Genetics in Medicine does not publish case reports. Submitted manuscripts should not contain previously published material.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
