Scope

Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Asian and African Studies is a peer-reviewed multi-disciplinary journal committed to foster original, independent, accurate and comprehensive professional research in Asian and African Studies. The Journal accepts scholarly articles, book reviews and reports on various academic activities in the field. The main objective of the Journal is to create an open intellectual forum for leading experts and specialist researchers in the areas of Asian and African studies both in Russia and abroad. The Journal pursues the following priorities: • furtherance of cutting edge research in the Asian and African studies; • identifying and investigating insufficiently explored areas of scholarship; • forming novelty approaches to methodology; • introducing scholarly use of rare textual sources; • interdisciplinary studies noted for their scholarly freshness, salience and ingenuity. The Journal encompasses the following spectrum of subject domains and topical areas: • re-evaluation of relations between Russia and Asia/ Africa; • languages of Asia and Africa; • Asia and Africa: history and source studies; • Asia and Africa: literature and literary theory; • Asia and Africa: geocultural spaces and cultural codes; • foreign policy, economics and international relations of Asia and Africa. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document
