Scope

Anuario Musical was founded in 1946 by Higinio Anglés, director of the (then so called) “Instituto Español de Musicología”. It is among the oldest periodicals devoted to Musicology in Spain. The Journal covers all areas of musicological research: History, studies on musical sources, and Ethnomusicology, as well as different aspects about musical performance, organology, etc. Anuario Musical only accepts previously unpublished, original papers. Spanish is the main language, but also accepts originals in Basque, Catalan, English, French, Galician, German, Italian and Portuguese languages. The Journal is open to musicologists and scholars specialized in the many disciplines related to music. It is published yearly. Anuario Musical is organized into Sections as follows: History of Music and Musicology, Ethnomusicology, and Studies on musical sources (very often related to the RISM project). Occasionally, the Editorial Board could add sections devoted to Bibliographic Reviews, Chronicles of significant events, and News or Reports. Join the conversation about this journal
