Scope

The global impact of sport in domains including business, politics, industry, culture and multi-media has paralleled a vibrant growth in international academia’s focus upon the discipline. Things have changed radically over the last few years. Sport now is transnational and global, regional and local at the same time and impacts the lives of millions across the world. Sports governance and administration is layered and complex and on occasions deeply politicized as well. Today Sport in Society is regarded as the preeminent academic and professional platform to critically engage in debates on these issues. It represents a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary forum for academics and professionals to consider the growing relationship of sport to an array of public domains. The Editorial Board welcomes submissions from scholars who place particular emphasis on publishing original, empirical research articles that demonstratively convey impact on its end users. It is proud of its truly international reach and, in a spirit of further expansion, welcomes submissions from colleagues based in Latin America, Asia and Australasia to compliment its already well-established North American and European readership.
