Scope

Scripta Nova es una revista académica independiente e internacional dedicada al análisis crítico de la realidad socio-espacial. Recoge la herencia de Geo Crítica. Cuadernos Críticos de Geografía Humana que se publicó entre en 1976 y 1994 bajo el impulso de Horacio Capel y supuso un gran revulsivo para la geografía española del momento. En 1994 la revista se adaptó precozmente al formato digital y emprendió un nuevo camino como revista en línea con el nombre de Scripta Nova. La revista proporciona un marco para la publicación de trabajos que contribuyan al debate sobre los temas y enfoques que el análisis crítico de la realidad espacial requiere. Tal como se decía en los inicios de Geo Crítica. Cuadernos Críticos de Geografía Humana, sus objetivos son «la crítica de las concepciones teóricas dominantes en la geografía, la utilización de la ciencia geográfica como herramienta crítica frente a la realidad social y el desarrollo de "otra" geografía fruto de la creación colectiva y de la discusión rigurosa» En tanto que revista de ámbito internacional, Scripta Nova publica trabajos en castellano, portugués, gallego y catalán. Dado que otras revistas con parecida orientación publican en inglés, parece necesario reforzar la difusión del conocimiento publicado en idiomas no hegemónicos. Las contribuciones deberán demostrar solidez e innovación teórica, riqueza empírica, puntos de vista interdisciplinarios y novedosos, compromiso con su objeto de estudio y buscar una relevancia social de su trabajo. Scripta Nova es de acceso gratuito, se publica sin ánimo de lucro y se realiza con el trabajo voluntario y cooperativo de profesores/as, investigadores/as y otras personas interesadas en la reflexión crítica del papel del espacio. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
