The Boletín de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua is a publication which aims to promote and disseminate works resulting from academic-scientific research in linguistics, philology, and literature, as well as from their interrelation with other disciplines of the humanities, such as history and philosophy, and education. Its efforts foster the development of a virtual community that builds links between authors, editors, and readers. The Boletín de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua provides historical access to the content. The editorial criterion guiding the publication is the knowledge acquired through research on linguistic and literary topics.
The journal focuses on theoretical and applied research on thematic areas of linguistics, philology, and literature. It also accepts interdisciplinary articles whose topics are related to language, orality, writing, reading, languages, speakers, and the linguistic sign. The BAPL publishes works on history of literature, historical linguistics, philosophy of language, intercultural education, language acquisition, discourse analysis, and migration linguistics. The Boletín de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua only publishes original texts written in Spanish. The Boletín values critical inquiries. Researchers can investigate national, regional, international, synchronic, or diachronic topics written and submitted in Spanish. Its peer review process is anonymous with specialists from the international linguistic community. The Boletín de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua supports the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).
