Scope

Acta Informatica provides international dissemination of articles on formal methods for the design and analysis of programs, computing systems and information structures, as well as related fields of Theoretical Computer Science such as Automata Theory, Logic in Computer Science, and Algorithmics. Topics of interest include: • semantics of programming languages • models and modeling languages for concurrent, distributed, reactive and mobile systems • models and modeling languages for timed, hybrid and probabilistic systems • specification, program analysis and verification • model checking and theorem proving • modal, temporal, first- and higher-order logics, and their variants • constraint logic, SAT/SMT-solving techniques • theoretical aspects of databases, semi-structured data and finite model theory • theoretical aspects of artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, description logic • automata theory, formal languages, term and graph rewriting • game-based models, synthesis • type theory, typed calculi • algebraic, coalgebraic and categorical methods • formal aspects of performance, dependability and reliability analysis • foundations of information and network security • parallel, distributed and randomized algorithms • design and analysis of algorithms • foundations of network and communication protocols. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
